" If the Army is supposed to protect the nation both from the external enemy and the enemy within what good is it if it cannot protect its own soldiers ,that too a serving Colonel ?"

Background
The recent incident in Patiala relating to police violence against a serving Army Colonel has triggered several articles on the subject , published in both print and electronic media .Many of these articles have been authored by few senior ,high-ranking, reputed veterans who commanded respect while in service and even as veterans today command equal respect for their valued words on military matters that they often convey through well researched articles published by few leading newspapers ,think tanks , news portals and magazines ,both in print and online edition which have a wide readership ,especially of the military world .
